Subject: Church Gossip

It is written; A GOSSIP BETRAYS A CONFIDENCE;
SO AVOID A MAN WHO TALKS TOO MUCH.
( PROVERBS 20:19 *NIV )

Unfortunately, almost every Church has a gossip one must
deal with. Sadly to say sometimes they even run new members
off. They should remember that our Savior, Jesus Christ said;
“JUDGE NOT, AND YOU SHALL NOT BE JUDGED. CONDEMN
NOT, AND YOU SHALL NOT BE CONDEMNED. FORGIVE
AND YOU WILL BE FORGIVEN.” ( LUKE 6:37 )

Therefore today’s message is about the way a new Church
member handled the Church gossip. This was sent to me by
a friend, and I hope it will make you laugh as it
did me.

Sarah, the Church gossip and self-appointed arbiter of the
Church’s morals, kept sticking her nose into other people’s
business. Now several members were unappreciative of her
activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.

She made a mistake, however, when she accused George,
a new member of being an alcoholic, after she saw his pickup
parked in front of the town’s only bar one afternoon.

She commented to George and others that everyone seeing
it there would know what he was doing. However, George, a
man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just walked
away. He didn’t explain, defend or deny–he said nothing.
However, how fitting it was that later that evening, George
quietly parked his pickup in front of Sarah’s house and left it
there all night…….

    I have been bullied for over one year now. Rumors and lies follow me at church but I will not leave. I believe God put me there for a reason and despite everything, I love my church. I know who is behind the bullying and yes, it hurts. It is painful and leaves its own kind of scars, but I am strong. The bullying consists of sending out emails that are filthy…spoofing my address so that church members actually believe I did this. My friends are being targeted and I am being isolated. It is okay. I serve a God who sees and hears. I trust He will use this for good.

    • you are right God knows and sees all things that are happening, I’m sorry you are bullied that’s a bad example for christians or people that suppose to be christians, but you are right that God will use it for good…Romans 8:28 you will be in my thoughts and prayers for God’s peace to cometo you in your life by His Spirit….take care….roger
